History: Found solely in the mountains above the Baoruco Province in the Dominican Republic, this soothing stone is considered artisanal mining due to the incredible difficulty and effort to extract. Rediscovered in the seventies by Miguel Méndez, he named it after his daughter Larissa, and the Spanish word for sea, mar.
